Okay. So, you need to stop what you are doing (reading this post) and go right now and read this instead. You won't regret it. Any of you who read last month's wrap up post already know I'm just a total fangirl of Mel and she has once again created something unbelievably potent. It cuts through any pretention to the rawness of the way it is and the things that are. It's about vampires and it's about trans people and it is maybe the best thing you are going to read this month.

As more of this story showed up I kept loving and hating it more. Loving it because it is wonderfully written and incisive and it feels deeply real and of our moment. Hating it because it's reminding me of all the reasons that I ran away from the UK and I'm going to be back there soon and dealing with it all again (yaaay). As much as it fuelled my anxieties about returning to Britain it also reminded me that there is hope. While I might consider Britain a nightmarish place I'm reminded that there are good people there. There are people like Dolly, like Mel, like my friends who I have not seen for near a decade, like my sister. It's not going to be as bad as last time. I can make this worse. (Also yesss Dolly is back!!!!! My favourite sheepgirl ever returns! I was so happy.)
